Did you make your own wedding invitations? Any suggestions of what to avoid or use? |

Yes, and they are so fun to make, if you like arts and crafts and such. What i did, was i stuck to my wedding colors which were a light blue and silver. There really isn't anything you have to stay away from. Make it simple to where they can read it but nice so that they don't toss it away thinking it is junk mail. Start off simple and add to it what you want if you don't like it, try something new. I tried like 50 different ideas before picking what I liked. And each time I made one they each had something I liked about it. So I added what I liked and came up with the inivites.It is all about preferecne

I have seen some beautiful hand-crafted wedding invitations! When my father married his wife, they had an artist friend of theirs decorate the front of their wedding invitations with exotic flowers in watercolors - gorgeous! Some friends of mine made the most amazing keepsake invitations, which included six fold-out pages of vintage-looking photos of the couple, along with old lace, vintage buttons, etc. Here are some fun examples of how very creative you can get when making your own invitations:

I once saw wedding invitations that looked like fans sort of. they were not actual fans, but they opened up to look like a fan and each piece had print on them. does anyone know what i am talking about? i think i saw it in a home magazine or something a few months (maybe even a year or 2) ago.
